This provider will work in an outpatient setting. There is no call or weekends and the APP will run an independent clinic seeing ENT patients.
Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides service to patients in designated care settings, including acute, short and long-term care, by assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments. Obtains a thorough medical history from patients and performs examinations and assessments to determine patient needs. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to analyze and interpret information collected from patients, medical records, and diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses. Works in collaboration with providers and independently to provide care, formulates treatment plans, prescribes medications, maintains detailed patient records, and consults with specialists when necessary. Provides patients with health information and counsels them and their families about self-management and treatment plans, tailoring instructions to individual circumstances. Conducts research and incorporates evidence-based practice guidelines into care. Maintains current knowledge of state regulations for advanced practice providers and reimbursement processes.
Qualifications
Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice and a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances. Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) or (FNP-BC). Demonstrated current competence in providing care for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months, or completion of a master’s/post-master’s degree program in the past twelve months.
